Textile of the Future is a cooperation project between LAMEIRINHO and Data CoLAB.
Its aim is to support Portuguese SMEs and startups in the development, testing, and experimentation of new products and services that bring competitive advantages to industries, particularly the Textile and Clothing Industry (ITV), based on the digitization and environmental sustainability of the industry.
The main objective of Textile of the Future is to support solutions that contribute to the industry of the future through digital transformation and environmental sustainability of processes, addressing global concerns regarding resource scarcity.
The Consortium
LAMEIRINHO is a Portuguese family-owned company that has been active in the market since 1948. Currently in its 4th generation, LAMEIRINHO has become a reference in the home textiles sector, both nationally and internationally, thanks to its family unity and dedication to the project.
Operating from its facilities in Guimarães, spanning approximately 200,000 m2, the company manufactures home textile articles for the most renowned international brands. Being a vertically integrated company, it oversees all processes: weaving, textile finishing, yarn dyeing, roller and digital printing, garment manufacturing, laundry, and final product dispatch. This ensures an extremely high production capacity, with a presence on all 5 continents and an export rate of 90%.
The company adopts an expansive and differentiated market vision, continually developing an extensive portfolio of products with innovative concepts, taking a pioneering role in the home textiles sector. Data CoLAB is a collaborative laboratory for data-driven innovation services. Founded in 2021, Data CoLAB began its activities in Viana do Castelo (headquarters) and has two additional activity centers in Portugal (Coimbra and Lisbon).
Its vision is to develop an intersectoral ecosystem involving various stakeholders who will use data to improve how we produce, consume, and live. To achieve this vision, Data CoLAB works across the entire data value chain, from acquisition to standardization and interoperability.
