Between June 22nd and 26th, Guimarães was the stage for an important international meeting promoted by the Arqus European University Alliance. Through a strategic collaboration with the Department of Production and Systems at the University of Minho, the city hosted two significant events: the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) and the Staff Week.

The BIP, themed “Turning Ideas into Businesses,” brought together 28 international students focused on developing new business ideas and exploring the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Concurrently, the Staff Week hosted 22 international academics who engaged in collaborative discussions on the theme “University Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.”

The Municipality of Guimarães maintained a strategic presence throughout this initiative via Set.Up Guimarães, which acted as a catalyst between academic knowledge and real-world application within our business fabric.

This participation not only reaffirms the municipality’s position as a reference hub for innovation but also underscores our commitment to fostering human capital and driving the local ecosystem. By sharing our vision and expertise with students and researchers of various nationalities, we are building critical bridges to attract qualified talent and facilitate the internationalization of our companies.

This sustained involvement has allowed us, year after year, to consolidate a high-level network of contacts with prestigious European academic institutions and business partners, ensuring that Guimarães remains at the forefront of global trends in entrepreneurship and economic development.
