Guimarães has just gained a new meeting point. LAB MUMA is born—a creative experience that stands not just as an artistic collective, but as a living space for dialogue between art, territory, and female identity.
Inspired by the vision and strength of Mumadona Dias, the founder of Guimarães, LAB MUMA is the result of the union of three women from who share the same philosophy: valuing manual craftsmanship, creation with purpose, and the power of shared experiences.
Where art meets people
The project is led by three creators who bring distinct yet complementary worlds together:

Isaura Salgado (Manufatto Concept Studio): Focused on contemporary craftsmanship and exclusive macramé pieces.

More than just a technical exhibition, LAB MUMA prioritizes presence. The project acts as a confluence point between artists, the public, and materials, offering a diverse program that includes open workshops, talks, fashion curation, and sensory experiences. The goal is clear: to make creativity accessible and transform art into an everyday experience.
Debut at the MIMO Festival
To celebrate this launch, LAB MUMA marks its presence at the MIMO Festival with the presentation of its first capsule collection. The pieces, created especially for the event, are a direct reflection of the laboratory’s mission: to celebrate the umbilical connection between art, the territory of Guimarães, and the feminine universe.
The project founders invite the city to visit the LabPac creative incubator and explore LAB MUMA. It is a place to see, feel, create, and take a piece of Guimarães home with you.
