This past Monday, April 15th, Set.Up Guimarães held its 23rd Creative Session, featuring our mentor Sílvia Vieira from Patentree. She provided insights into the existing vouchers in the PME 2024 Fund aimed at intellectual property defense and clarified doubts regarding the topics this area covers. She emphasized the importance of defending this type of property as a strategic management tool for small and medium-sized enterprises when launching products, brands, or patents into the market.
Sílvia Vieira is an Official Industrial Property Agent and Authorized Representative for Trademarks, Designs, or Models with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). With an academic background, she holds a Ph.D. in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, and Stem Cells from the University of Minho. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work in various research groups not only in Portugal but also in the UK and the USA, providing her with a diverse perspective and knowledge in the field of biotechnology and biomaterials. During her Ph.D., she developed a keen interest and skills in Intellectual Property rights, particularly concerning strategies available for protecting and transferring scientific research to the market.
She is currently an Intellectual Property Consultant at Patentree, a Portuguese company known for its commitment to quality and strong Intellectual Property strategies. Its partners and associates have extensive professional experience in various aspects of Intellectual Property, making Patentree a pioneering company in Portugal.
