Municipality of Guimarães hosted the first edition of the Industry Bootcamps, an initiative designed to support industrial companies in adopting collaborative innovation models in partnership with startups and research and technology organizations.
The session featured experts Nuno Vasco Lopes and Filipe Soutinho, who led two practical sessions focused on Collaborative Industrial Innovation and Open Innovation. Throughout the bootcamp, participants were introduced to methodologies and tools enabling companies to integrate external solutions, accelerate transformation processes, and respond more effectively to market challenges.
The initiative aimed to strengthen connections between industry, startups, and research entities, fostering new cooperation models capable of generating economic value and enhancing business competitiveness within the region. Through a hands-on and results-oriented approach, participants explored strategies to identify collaboration opportunities and develop joint innovation projects.
This bootcamp is part of the Set.Up Industry acceleration program promoted by the Municipality of Guimarães, which seeks to connect startups and industrial companies through the development of pilot projects and innovative solutions addressing real industrial challenges. The initiative therefore reinforces the creation of strong links between entrepreneurship and the productive sector, promoting open innovation processes with direct impact on the local economy.
The Industry Bootcamps are aligned with the municipality’s strategy to modernize the business ecosystem, encouraging a culture of openness, experimentation, and collaboration among different stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem.
