Set.Up Guimarães continues to highlight the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the municipality, and this month, the featured start-up is Sentinel. Incubated at TecPark, the company specializes in developing innovative computer vision and artificial intelligence solutions for the industry. Its work contributes to optimizing production processes and improving product quality.
Founded four years ago by Joel Alves, Álvaro Oliveira, and Rui Moreira, Sentinel has a team of 16 employees and has been making a name for itself in the market with its specialized solutions, ranging from the inspection of injected parts to 3D weld inspection and robotic guidance. The company already works with renowned clients such as Continental, BorgWarner, and Amorim.
With a turnover of approximately 3 million euros in 2024, Sentinel is paving the way for an international future. Recently acquired by the Spanish group Mondragón, the largest business conglomerate in the Basque Country, the company will relocate its headquarters to Rubí, Barcelona, while maintaining a technology center in Portugal. This strategic move aims to consolidate its presence in the international market and strengthen its innovation capabilities.
With the support of Set.Up Guimarães and its strategic position, Sentinel aims to achieve a turnover of between 8 and 10 million euros in the coming years. The expansion will not be limited to Spain, as the company is already planning to enter markets such as Mexico and Germany, further reinforcing its global projection.
