A class from the Professional Course in Industrial Maintenance Technology at Dr. Mário Sacramento Secondary School recently visited Orthos XXI in Guimarães. The initiative, supported by the Municipality of Guimarães through Guimarães Marca and Set.Up Guimarães, aimed to provide students with hands-on experience and bring them closer to the real working environment of the industrial sector.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the company’s production processes, explore the technologies used, and understand the technical and safety requirements of the industry. This experience strengthened the connection between academic learning and professional practice, contributing to the development of technical skills and critical observation.

Beyond technical competencies, the visit highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, creativity, and soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—all essential for professional success. Set.Up Guimarães has been supporting initiatives like this, recognizing the value of students’ holistic development and fostering stronger connections between schools, companies, and the local business ecosystem.

Orthos XXI welcomed the students with particular attention, answering questions and encouraging direct interaction with industry professionals. For the students, the visit was a valuable learning opportunity, reinforcing classroom concepts and inspiring future career paths.
