On July 15, Set.Up Guimarães held a new edition of its Creative Sessions, this time focused on accounting and financial management for startups and small businesses. The session took place at the LabPac Creative Incubator in Guimarães and featured guest speakers Marlene Correia and Luís Ramos, two experts with distinct yet complementary backgrounds.
Aimed at demystifying key accounting and financial management concepts, the session offered participants a practical and accessible approach to topics that are often seen as complex. Throughout the afternoon, the discussion covered good accounting practices, useful tools for day-to-day management, and the importance of having a financial structure aligned with strategic business goals.
Marlene Correia, whose international career includes leadership roles in large companies, shared her experience as a CFO and CEO, highlighting the importance of financial control for business sustainability. Luís Ramos, a university professor and co-founder of ventures such as TOGROW and USE AND REUSE, brought a technical and applied perspective on financial management, focusing especially on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in growth contexts.
More than just a lecture, the session encouraged interaction among participants, who had the opportunity to ask specific questions, share challenges, and exchange ideas in an informal and collaborative environment. The session contributed to strengthening the participants’ financial literacy and provided valuable tools to support more informed and effective decision-making.
This Creative Session reaffirms Set.Up Guimarães’ commitment to supporting the local entrepreneurial ecosystem by offering learning opportunities that address the real needs of incubated projects and the regional business community.
