Session took place online with the participation of dozens of entrepreneurs.

Extraordinary Support for the Progressive Resumption of Activity is a program aimed at employers who have been affected by the pandemic and who are, consequently, in a situation of business crisis, that is, with a revenue breakdown of 25% or more. This is one of the support instruments that it is important to make known and “insist on the necessary clarifications, with objectivity, for entrepreneurs to feel that they can resort to this support, overcoming the most bureaucratic issues”, stressed the Councilor of Guimarães, Ricardo Costa, in an online session addressed to entrepreneurs from Guimarães.

This session took place within the scope of the work carried out by the Municipality of Guimarães in support of the economic fabric, namely through the Espaço Empresa. It also counted on the interventions of Ana Cristina Nolasco, director of the Social Security Identification, Qualification and Remuneration Center and Cristina Máximo, director of the Unemployment Benefits and Deferred Social Security Benefits Center.

Under the motto ‘Simplified Layoff and Support for Resumption’, the measures that are available and under the responsibility of social security were presented, namely the Extraordinary Support program for the Progressive Resumption of Activity and the Simplified Layoff (Extraordinary Measure to Support Contract Maintenance) which is intended for employers, subject to the closure of facilities and establishments by legislative or administrative determination from a government source, within the scope of the pandemic. The employer can access support as long as its activity is totally or partially subject to the duty of closure, covering workers affected by this duty of closure.
