Marcos Freitas Carvalho began to navigate taxation from an early age, as a result of the family environment, since his father was linked for 36 years to the Tax and Customs Authority.0
He is a lawyer with a degree from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, a postgraduate degree in Corporate Tax Law from the IDET-Institute of Business and Labor Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and a master’s degree in Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University.
He was a member of the Tax and Customs Authority, in the Porto Finance Directorate, in the Tax Justice Division. He was a lawyer at a law firm in Lisbon, in the Tax Law, Economic Regulation, Energy and Projects department, having also been a tax consultant in several law firms in that city.
It has always been moved by the idea that we must dedicate ourselves to what we know how to do best. Why he founded the company Freitas Carvalho | Lawyers, a distinct and differentiating project in Portuguese law committed to specialization. In 2014, he registers the Freitas Carvalho brand | Lawyers, in order to create an innovative concept of providing legal services: making their clients’ objectives their own; value your team, business, products, services and good name; trust solutions, the word given, each other, values and projects.
Today it is a national reference that has the confidence of national and foreign companies, which operate in the most diverse sectors, namely in the area of textiles, footwear, real estate and construction and metallurgy, as well as private customers.
Marcos Freitas Carvalho is a guest speaker / trainer at several conferences, seminars, training courses and postgraduate courses on tax topics, with several published articles.
He is a member of the Portuguese Fiscal Association (AFP), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Young IFA Network.
