Last Friday, March 28th, the LabPac Creative Incubator at Set.Up Guimarães hosted a visit from a delegation of CAISA – Cooperativa de Artes, Intervenção Social e Animação, as part of the Rebirth project.

CAISA is a non-profit organization that has been developing work in the areas of education, culture, and social intervention. The Rebirth project is co-financed by the European Union and aims to promote a more sustainable future by addressing the environmental and social challenges of excessive textile consumption.

This initiative goes beyond recycling, providing unemployed women of middle age with access to specialized training, enabling them to acquire ecological and entrepreneurial skills.

During the visit, the team had the opportunity to learn about some of the innovative projects making a difference in Guimarães, with a special focus on initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability, material recovery and transformation, as well as raising awareness about new, more responsible consumption practices.

The visit emphasized the importance of local initiatives that not only tackle environmental challenges but also promote social inclusion and the professional autonomy of women in vulnerable situations.
