Campaign to raise goods in the municipality, promoted by the City Council, with the collaboration of the Guimarães Delegation of the Red Cross, Arciprestado de Guimarães and Vizela and the local business community.
The Municipality of Guimarães, in collaboration with the Guimarães Delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross, the Archpriestship of Guimarães and Vizela and local companies, is developing a solidarity campaign through the collection of goods in favor of the Ukrainian people. This initiative also extends to all Parish Councils and companies wishing to join the goods collection campaign, starting next Wednesday, March 2nd.
Among the necessary goods, hygiene products (toiletries, wipes, diapers for children and the elderly), blankets, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags (new) and pharmacy products (ex: paracetamol or compresses) stand out. .
Goods can be delivered to the participating Parish Councils and/or the participating Parishes of the Archpriestship of Guimarães and Vizela. A list of all locations where the goods can be delivered will be made available shortly. The Municipality of Guimarães is also carrying out a survey of personal or business availability to receive Ukrainian citizens and contribute with answers for accommodation, employment or childcare without a back-up.
For this Wednesday, March 2nd, a “Vigil for Peace” is also scheduled, at 9:30 pm, at Largo de Toural to demonstrate the solidarity of the people of Guimarães with the Ukrainian people, in an organization of the Pastoral Zone of the City of Guimarães and Nucleus of Guimarães of the National Listening Corps.
