The Fashion Film Festival (FFF) is now in its 8th edition and took place for the first time in Guimarães in 2019 in a co-organization between the Associação Seletiva Moda and the Municipality of Guimarães. The parties’ desire to consolidate this event in Guimarães led to a rebranding of the brand, promoted nationally and internationally. initially promoted as Porto Fashion Film Festival for Guimarães Fashion Film Festival.

 

Guimarães FFF, is the only one of its kind in Portugal and intends to highlight the Fashion Film as a privileged audiovisual language to promote and spread the work of creators in the Fashion and Audiovisual industry, highlighting and rewarding the best work done. The festival has several categories up for competition: National Fashion Films by Independent Authors, Alive Mobile, Brand, Technical Textiles, Institutional, International and a new category of Home Textiles, in honor of the capital of this segment – ​​Guimarães. The event has several international festivals as partners: La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival (USA), Berlin FFF; Madrid FFF, Copenhagen FFF and Barcelona FFF.

 

This year the intention is to repeat the event in Guimarães, maintaining the alignment of the previous year, namely:

  • The promotion of the thematic area in the competition, created in 2020, O Textil-Lar, dedicated to the business fabric of Vimaranense, which has a representative of the municipality on the jury for this category of the festival, as well as a representative of the CineClube de Guimarães;
  • Programming dedicated to higher and technological courses, in the municipality area, dedicated to fashion, design, textiles, multimedia and audio visual, with the ultimate goal of creating, in the 2022 edition, a thematic area in the competition exclusively dedicated to this audience. It is intended in this way to involve professional and higher schools in the production of content related to Guimarães to the fashion and textile sectors, through the inclusion of a space in the parade for students and the creations of courses related to fashion, multimedia and design. area of ​​the municipality of Guimarães.
  • Emphasis on the production of collective multimedia digital content to communicate the Guimarães Marca project, in addition to multimedia portfolios for each of the participating companies. These digital communication elements will allow the Guimarães Brand Project and companies that integrate the event to take full advantage of the new communication platforms that are expected to replace some traditional models, namely, face-to-face international fairs, with fair models and online events, where multimedia contents will be the main communication tool.

 

The collective film Guimarães Marca is also intended to be part of the fashion film contest in the 2022 edition of the FFF, fostering the consolidation of this fashion film festival in Guimarães.
