Famel, incubated by Set.Up Guimarães, a historic national brand, known for its tradition and innovation in the mobility sector, is preparing to begin a new phase of growth by locating its Advanced Development and Prototyping Center in Guimarães. The process was fully advised by dipe real estate’s Corporate department.

This unit has a strategic location in the municipality of Guimarães, and reflects Famel’s vision of sustainable growth and its commitment to proximity to the region’s logistical resources, suppliers and main communication routes.

“This new phase marks a crucial moment in Famel’s history. We intend to continue honoring the brand’s legacy, but with our eyes on the future, through innovation and sustainability”, begins by stating Joel Sousa, CEO of Famel. “The partnership with dipe was fundamental in finding a solution that aligned our ambitions with the strategic needs of the business. Guimarães offers us the perfect environment to grow and innovate”, he concludes.

“Advising the operation that places a company with the prestige of Famel in a technological unit in Guimarães was a challenging process. These facilities, with a strategic location and a space that corresponds to its future needs, demonstrate dipe’s ability, through its Corporate department, to implement and promote brands or companies in accordance with their main requirements”, says Diogo Baptista Antunes, CEO of dipe real estate.

After starting its activity in 1949 as a metal rim factory, Famel launched, 26 years later, the best-selling motorcycle in Portugal, the iconic XF-17. After a bankruptcy process and subsequent revitalization, the brand focused its attention on innovation and sustainability, through the production of electric motorcycles. To continue its growth trajectory, the national company has an investment of around 2.5 million euros from the Novus fund, managed by Magnify Capital Partners, in partnership with Banco de Fomento and private investors.
