Yesterday, March 10, the Demo Day of the Set.Up Guimarães IN(dustry) program took place at the Plataforma das Artes e da Criatividade, at the Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães (CIAJG). The initiative aims to bring technology startups closer to industry.
The event brought together nine startups presenting innovative solutions with applications across different industrial and technological sectors. On stage were Axios Care, with a real-time monitoring solution for residents in nursing homes and healthcare institutions using smart sensors and proprietary software; BioMetaSole, focused on producing sustainable materials for footwear soles from organic waste; and Dermaleaf, which develops natural cosmetics from vineyard by-products.
Also presenting were Looppack, showcasing a reusable packaging solution with an intelligent locking system, and Flinotech Sphere, dedicated to developing IoT technology to monitor air quality in industrial environments.
The program also featured ViaScan, with a road inspection solution based on computer vision and artificial intelligence; CivilShield, a startup developing advanced technologies to detect invisible risks in infrastructure; Planta Smart Homes, which creates automation solutions for smart and sustainable homes; and Vita4All, a platform that mobilizes trained responders to enable faster emergency response.
The Demo Day marked the conclusion of the first phase of the Set.Up IN(dustry) acceleration program, promoted by the Municipality of Guimarães through Set.Up Guimarães and Guimarães Marca, in partnership with TecMinho. During this stage, participating startups benefited from training bootcamps, specialized mentoring and direct contact with companies and partners from the innovation ecosystem.
The event also brought together representatives from industry, investors and several partners from the entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating an environment conducive to knowledge sharing and the identification of collaboration opportunities. The Demo Day concluded with a networking moment between startups, companies and stakeholders, strengthening connections and fostering future partnerships.
The Set.Up IN(dustry) program is promoted by the Municipality of Guimarães through Set.Up Guimarães and Guimarães Marca, in partnership with TecMinho.
The initiative reinforces Guimarães’s strategy to promote technological entrepreneurship and collaboration between startups, industry and knowledge centers, fostering new opportunities for innovation and economic development.
