The re.store, a textile brand and partner of Set.Up Guimarães, has announced the successful upcycled of 8.5 tons of waste and accessories from the Portuguese textile industry.

This milestone highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, transforming materials that would otherwise be discarded into new products.

In addition to contributing to environmental preservation, re.store takes an inclusive approach by collaborating with social partners, such as Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS), day centers, refugees, and prisoners, providing fair employment opportunities and promoting social inclusion.

“Reaching the milestone of 8 tons of recycled textiles is a testament to our vision that it is possible to balance business success with social and environmental responsibility,” says Sílvia Correia, founder of the brand. “This achievement represents our effort to transform waste into opportunities, creating a positive impact on both the environment and people’s lives,” she adds.

In just four years, re.store has successfully recycled 8.5 tons of textiles and accessories, and has paid its social partners with €64,000.

re.store at Pet Festival

The brand will be present at the Pet Festival, held from January 31 to February 2 at the Lisbon Internacional Fair (FIL) in Parque das Nações. During the event, re.store will showcase its collection of pet accessories.

Made from recycled materials sourced from the Portuguese textile industry, the beds are created through upcycling waste and production surpluses and are produced by “unique individuals in their difference,” such as refugees and prisoners, offering them an opportunity for social reintegration.

re.store will be located at Pavilion 3, Stand 16, promoting its sustainable and socially inclusive business model.
