The first part of the Mars 2020 Perseverance mission was completed with the successful arrival on the Red Planet. The mission, which became known throughout the world, had the collaboration of the European Space Agency and a Portuguese consortium of which the company Stratosphere was part, which developed the capsule protection shield.
For this Creative Session we invitet Gustavo Dias, President, CEO and co-founder of Stratosphere, PhD in Polymer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minho and the Ecole Nationale des Mines, Paris; Professor of applied and computational mechanics at the University of Minho.
Stratosphere, which was born by the hand of two professors from the University of Minho and is currently installed in TecPark, a technological-based incubator at Set.Up Guimarães, is a company focused on the development of solutions and products for the monitoring of critical structures and systems.
The company intervenes, mainly, in markets where the structural performance requirement is critical, such as aeronautics, the aerospace sector and the railroad.
In addition to telling the story of Stratosphere, Gustavo Dias will talk to the participants about the challenges and opportunities he encountered when developing the company, as well as its contribution to the development of research and products in the area of cyberphysics.
