Fashion and sustainability will be highlighted in the upcoming Creative Sessions of Set.Up Guimarães, featuring two expert guests in the realms of fashion combined with a commitment to sustainability and care for the planet: Sílvia Correia and Lucie Gomes.
Creative Sessions #22 will take place on February 22nd, at Lab.Pac, Set.Up Guimarães’ creative base incubator located at the Plataforma das Artes in the heart of Guimarães city, starting at 10:30 am.
“Sustainability in the fashion industry” is the theme for a conversation about the importance of rethinking the world of fashion and consumerism, focusing on sustainability and waste reduction.
Silvia Correia introduces herself as an Economist by training, a Marketer by vocation, a Social Entrepreneur by passion, and a Positive Impact Creator! She is the founder of several brands, with a highlight on re.store, a Portuguese textile brand that combines social innovation with environmental innovation and educational actions aimed at changing current consumption habits.
Lucie Gomes is a Portuguese-French entrepreneur, a Ph.D. in psychology, passionate about nature, people, and fashion design. She is the founder of Etikway. The tragedy of the Rana Plaza building collapse in Bangladesh in 2013, which resulted in the deaths of many workers from the five textile factories operating there, was the starting point for the creation of Etikway. Lucie was deeply affected and decided to create a startup and an association, an incubator for fashion designers and sustainable projects, to promote upcycling, circular economy, and sustainable innovation in the textile sector. Etikway currently carries out a manual traceability process for the products on its platform and in its clothing stores.
A conversation that promises to be passionate and essential for those seeking to build a better planet!
