Guimarães’ Economy Month continues to inspire new generations with initiatives that bring innovation and entrepreneurship closer to schools. On the afternoon of October 16, at CIAJG, the “Pitch for the Kids” event took place, as part of Techstars Startup Week Guimarães, challenging students from Escola Profissional D. Afonso Henriques to think like real entrepreneurs.

The activity featured Rui Pinheiro, incubator manager at Set.Up Guimarães and part of the Techstars Startup Week Guimarães organization, who led an interactive discussion on what a startup is, the role of an entrepreneur, and the importance of creativity and innovation in generating new ideas and businesses.

To make the experience even closer to real business practice, two representatives from startups selected in the Set.Up IN(dustry) program, Axios Care and Flinotech Sphere, shared their stories, showing how they turned innovative ideas into concrete projects related to technology and sustainability.

The session concluded with a fun and educational moment through a themed Kahoot, where the children tested their knowledge about the world of startups and entrepreneurship in a relaxed and participatory environment.

Part of Techstars Startup Week Guimarães, “Pitch for the Kids” reinforces the municipality’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, promoting direct contact between young people and the local innovation ecosystem.
