Before settling in the town of Amares, Braga, Sílvia Correia was a true globetrotter.

She holds a degree in Economics from ISEG, is fluent in English and Italian, and has worked in banking in Portugal and in direct marketing across Sweden, France, and Italy. Upon returning to Portugal, she joined the home textiles industry, taking on the role of Head of Marketing, Design and Licensing at the largest home textile company in the country.

She is passionate about her work and considers herself privileged for loving what she does and doing what she loves!
Sílvia believes that the key to making a difference is empowering people to become agents of positive and creative change — and her favourite verb is “make-it-happen.”

Known for her creativity, strong organisational and motivational skills, she stands out for her talent in teambuilding. A determined and focused individual, both personally and professionally, she dedicates herself wholeheartedly to the projects she embraces. In the words of her daughter, “she always has her antennas up for the next project.”

Sílvia leads two volunteer projects integrated within her company, Creative Zone: D’Avo With Love (active ageing) and How Can I Help You? since 2018 (a youth-led place marketing volunteer initiative). She is also proudly one of the “Nuvens” – volunteers who tell stories to children in the paediatric wing of Braga Hospital.

During the pandemic, she founded Essential Together to manage her life project: re.store® – a brand that’s friendly to both People and the Planet. Its purpose is to transform many small worlds, one at a time, every single day, by raising awareness around the need to change our habits — both in relation to the environment and in the way we embrace people and their uniqueness, through inclusion.

At the heart of all her energy is her most important and demanding role: being a Mother. And for her personal and professional life motto, she borrows the words of Portuguese poet Miguel Torga:
“Destiny may guide us, but the rest is up to me.”
