Set.Up Guimarães was present this morning at the 2nd edition of the Mentoring Programme – “Turning Ideas into Businesses,” an initiative integrated into the UMinho Staff Week 2025 – “University Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems,” organized by the University of Minho in Guimarães, as part of the Arqus Alliance.

The event brought together approximately 80 participants, including students and mentors from various higher education institutions across Europe, Colombia, and Brazil. The main goal of this event was to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within universities, fostering the exchange of ideas and best practices among the represented ecosystems.

Set.Up Guimarães was represented by Rui Pinheiro, who took part in the roundtable discussion “Turning Ideas into Businesses,” alongside representatives from Fibrenamics, TecMinho, and Startup Braga. Moderated by Eduardo Pinto from Fibrenamics, the discussion highlighted the role of universities in bridging academic ideas with concrete business opportunities, emphasizing the importance of local initiatives that support entrepreneurial projects.

Set.Up’s presence at this event reinforces its commitment to developing the innovation ecosystem in Guimarães and promoting connections between academia, the business community, and entrepreneurs.

The event took place at the Azurém campus of UMinho and also featured a seminar on “How to visualize ideas and opportunities,” led by Giada Centenaro from the Universitat de Lleida/University of Padova, followed by a networking session.
