Filipe Soutinho

Filipe Soutinho is a specialist in Innovation, R&D, and Entrepreneurship, with over 20 years of experience. He holds a PhD in Engineering and a Master’s in Design and Marketing from the University of Minho, combining technical training with a strategic vision for innovation.

He began his professional career in the textile industry and, for 9 years, was a researcher in technology transfer projects at the University of Minho, collaborating with both national and international companies. During this period, he registered 5 patents, published over 80 scientific articles and 3 book chapters. 

As a consultant, trainer, and mentor, he has accumulated over 2,400 hours of training in about 70 organizations. He has supported the creation of over 40 startups, implemented more than 30 RDI Management Systems, and structured around 200 R&D projects. He also promoted several innovation-related business projects, such as IDT Consulting, CIMPA, SabSer, and OMA. 

From 2019 to 2021, he was the General Director of TecMinho and head of the Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Department. 

Currently, he works as a technology and innovation auditor, and is co-founder of AFI – Association for the Promotion of Innovation and ASEE – Association for Sustainability and Energy Efficiency.
