Today, July 23rd, a welcoming session was held for a group of trainees in the field of International Trade (IEFP). The main objective of the initiative was to complement the students’ coursework and meet their educational expectations by providing direct contact with the institutional and business reality.

The session was structured around four fundamental strategic axes for regional economic development:

  • Projects of Municipal Economic Interest (PEIM): A practical presentation of the support instruments provided by the local municipality, which are essential for energizing and consolidating local businesses, creating solid foundations before or during external expansion processes.

  • Guimarães Marca Project: An open discussion focused on enhancing territorial identity, the external promotion of the business fabric, and the impact of a collective brand on attracting investment and the international projection of products and services.

  • The Role of Set.Up Guimarães: Highlighting the Municipality’s actions through the Set.Up Guimarães incubator network, a fundamental pillar in stimulating entrepreneurship, empowering new business projects, and supporting innovation with global ambition.

  • Institutional Coordination: A debate surrounding strategic cooperation between the municipality and other benchmark entities within the internationalization support ecosystem.

A Practical Approach to Global Challenges

This initiative stood out for its high relevance in bridging the gap between the academic, institutional, and business worlds, demonstrating on the ground the active role of the municipality in economic dynamization and support for local companies.

For the trainees, the visit represented a unique opportunity to connect theory with practice, enriching the knowledge acquired regarding the real challenges faced by companies in international markets.
